Overview

The 2027 Robalo R237 DC is a 23-foot dual console built for Southwest Florida families who want to fish in the morning and spend the afternoon on the sandbar. It pairs a protected helm and plenty of seating with the fishing gear that local anglers expect: a 40-gallon insulated fish box, an 18-gallon livewell, and a bow casting platform. For the inshore and nearshore boating most of us do every weekend, it's a very practical boat.

At 276 inches (23 feet) long with a 102-inch beam, the R237 has a roomy deck without becoming a handful at the dock or on the trailer. Its 17-inch draft suits the skinny water of Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound. It also works for island hopping around Cayo Costa and Keewaydin, and for tucking up to a sandbar to swim and relax. The three-step telescoping boarding ladder with handle makes getting in and out of the water easy for everyone aboard.

This 2027 model is built on a fiberglass hull with Kevlar reinforcement and Robalo's Hydro Lift multi-angle hull design. It also has a full fiberglass structural system, poured composite transom coring, and encapsulated reserve flotation. The R237 is NMMA certified using ABYC standards and carries a limited lifetime hull warranty. A self-bailing cockpit with integrated drain fittings, a garboard drain, and a bilge pump with automatic switch add peace of mind when a summer squall rolls in off the Gulf.

Power comes from a Yamaha four-stroke F250XSB rated at 250 horsepower with digital electric steering, which is also the maximum horsepower rating for the model. With 90 gallons of fuel capacity, you have room to explore the harbor, run the coastline, and still make it home. The R237 is rated for up to 12 passengers, so bring the whole crew.

The dual-console layout is a big part of the appeal. The starboard ultra comfort helm seat has a flip-up bolster, and the port seat is a reversible Oasis lounge that folds forward to give you an aft-facing seat. The bow casting platform converts to U-shaped seating, and removable bow cushions turn the front of the boat into a lounge. An enclosed head compartment with a lockable fiberglass door adds privacy and convenience. The premium sound system, with Bluetooth, a Sirius satellite tuner, and four JL Audio speakers with blue LED lighting, keeps the music going.

This unit is finished in Wide Band Alloy Gray with a Shadow cockpit interior and black canvas. It is equipped with a white powder-coated hard top, a Garmin GPSMap 1243XSV, a dual console bow and cockpit cover, overboard discharge, a galvanized 12 lb anchor, and two additional stainless steel drink/rod holders. It also includes a comfort package and a 5-year premium level limited component warranty. A tandem axle aluminum trailer with disc brakes on all four wheels is included, so you can launch from nearly any ramp in Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties.

To be candid about where the R237 fits best: it's a family-friendly inshore and nearshore boat that can handle a few miles of Gulf. It isn't meant for serious, sustained offshore work. If your weekends are mostly bay fishing, sandbar days, and sunset cruises, this is a great match.
