Some builds start with a customer walking onto the lot. This one started with a phone call from Sweetwater.
Babcock Ranch had asked Sweetwater, its on-water partner and the team that runs the boats on Lake Babcock, for something that fit the community. Babcock Ranch is a solar-powered town, so a gas-burning pontoon on its lake didn't feel right. The ask was simple: a boat that runs clean, runs quiet, and that anyone can rent.
Sweetwater took that ask and ran with it. They pulled the idea together, came to us with a clear picture of what the boat needed to be, and trusted our team to build it. The result is a custom Premier Pontoon powered by Torqeedo electric propulsion from the Yamaha Motor Group. It's one of the first boats of its kind in the country.

Thank You, Sweetwater
This project doesn't happen without Sweetwater. They saw what Babcock Ranch was asking for, figured out what it would take, and brought the right people together. We've worked alongside the Sweetwater team for many years supplying and servicing the boats behind their club at Bonita Bay Marina and their rentals at Hinckley Marina in Fort Myers. When they came to us with this one, it was an easy yes.
Thank you as well to Babcock Ranch for setting the bar and asking for a boat that matches the town.

The Build
We started with Premier, our top-selling pontoon line and a boat we know inside and out. From there, our team fit and integrated a Torqeedo electric drive.
Torqeedo has been building electric marine drives in Germany since 2005. Yamaha Motor acquired the company in 2024, and Torqeedo is now Yamaha's electric propulsion brand. As a Yamaha Key Dealer, we sell and service Yamaha power every day, so bringing Torqeedo onto a Premier was a natural fit for our service team.
Why Electric Makes Sense on Lake Babcock
Zero emissions in operation. No fuel, no exhaust, nothing going into the lake.
Near-silent. You can hold a normal conversation on board, and you won't spook the fish or bother the neighbors.
Smooth ride. Minimal vibration and instant power from a standstill.
Low maintenance. No oil changes, no fuel system to worry about.
Clean charging. [CONFIRM: The boat charges from Babcock Ranch's solar-supported grid.]
On a lake lined with homes and wildlife, those things matter.
How to Get on the Water
Residents and visitors can rent the boat through Sweetwater starting now. https://www.sweetwaterlifestyles.com/
