If you've been out on the water with the Fish Tale Boat Club lately, you already know the best part of this club isn't the boats. It's the people. The sandbar lunches, the dock-side stories, the monthly meetings that somehow always run long because nobody wants to leave. Behind the scenes, our team has been quietly working on ways to make all of that even easier to be part of.
Nothing here is official yet, and we're not putting dates on anything. But we've been having too much fun building to keep it entirely to ourselves, so consider this a peek over the gunwale at what's taking shape for our Fort Myers boat club and the whole SWFL boat club community.
RSVPs Without the Runaround
Planning a rendezvous means knowing who's coming, how many are in each party and how much food to order. We've been working on making RSVPs quick and simple: find the event, tap a button, tell us who's aboard and you're set. Fewer group texts, fewer "wait, was I on the list?" moments, and a much better shot at the food truck having enough tacos for everybody.
One Calendar, Everywhere You Look
Club events have a habit of living in a few different places at once. We've been pulling everything toward a single, always-current calendar, so whether you check in on the Fish Tale website or the club's own site, you see the same dates, the same details and the same meeting points. When plans change, and on the water they sometimes do, the change shows up everywhere at once.
Event Pages Worth Clicking
We're giving each outing its own home: where we're headed, where to meet, what it costs (usually nothing), and photos that make you want to fire up the engines. After an event, the pictures stick around so you can relive the day, tag along virtually if you missed it, or show your friends exactly what they skipped.
Updates That Find You
You shouldn't have to go hunting for club news. We're working on smarter email updates so new events, schedule changes and the occasional "don't forget, this weekend!" land right in your inbox. And we're exploring even more ways to keep you in the loop without cluttering it up.
A Members-Only Home Base
This is the one we're most excited about. We've been building a members-only hub: one place to see what's coming up, catch up on club news, and connect with fellow members. Think of it as the clubhouse that never closes. Swap sandbar recommendations, compare notes on the best lunch spots by boat, ask a question before your next trip and pick up a tip or two from members who have been running these waters for years.
Your Boat, All in One Place
For Fish Tale owners, we've been connecting the club experience with your own boat. Picture a single login where you can see your boat's details and service history and keep an eye on boats you love. Less digging through paperwork, more time on the water.
Why We're Doing This
Fish Tale Boats has been part of the Southwest Florida boating community since 1996, and the Boat Club is one of our favorite ways to give back to the people who make it special. Every one of these projects started with the same question: how do we make it easier for members to show up, meet up and enjoy the water together? We'll share more as things come together. Consider this the first peek, not the last.
Come Say Hello: Next Up on the Calendar
The best way to see where the club is headed is to come along for the ride. Two events are coming up that we'd love to see you at:
- November Water Rendezvous at Slipaway Marina (Thursday, November 5, 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM). Lunch on the water at the food truck park and marina on the Caloosahatchee in Cape Coral. It's free, and we ask that you RSVP ahead of time so we can coordinate with the Slipaway team.
- Kick-off Meet-up at the Fort Myers Boat Show (Friday, November 13, 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM). A quick get-together to review the season's upcoming events, with plenty of open discussion. Bring your ideas. See the event details.
Not a member yet? Find out how to join the Fish Tale Boat Club, browse the full event calendar, or drop us a line at club@fishtale.com. We'll save you a spot at the sandbar.
