What paperwork do I need to sell my boat through Fish Tale?
You e-sign a listing agreement and a power of attorney at the start — the power of attorney is what lets us handle the title paperwork for you. Have your title and registration ready, plus your lender details if the boat is financed.
Do I have to bring my boat to you?
Yes. We bring the boat in so it can go through our internal review, be photographed properly and be shown to buyers. We arrange that with you when you get started.
What if I still owe money on my boat?
That is common and it is not a problem. Tell us the lender and the approximate payoff when you first contact us so we can factor it in, and we will walk you through how it is handled.
How do you decide what to list my boat for?
We research what comparable boats are doing in the current market and come back to you with what we found and what we recommend. You decide the asking price with that in front of you.
How long does it take to sell a boat?
It depends on the boat, the season and the asking price, so we do not quote a timeline we cannot stand behind. What we can show you is what comparable boats have been doing recently — that is the conversation in the market research step.
